Let’s Get Under the Surface Together …

You may be skilled in providing essential, meaningful care for others, but when it comes to self-care it may feel unnatural or even selfish. On the contrary, caring for yourself is an instrumental part of avoiding burnout and being able to help others thrive — and that’s where life coaching comes in.

This is something I learned from personal experience when I became a caregiver to my wife in 2017. Since then my desire to help caregivers, and individuals who are struggling, led me to create the Getting Under The Surface (GUTS) program. After presenting GUTS to large groups, the need for life coaching to individuals and small groups became apparent — as it allows for a safe space for a confidential, collaborative process.

Life coaching sessions focus on improving your mental, physical and emotional health by addressing what you’re feeling stressed, burnt out and/or anxious about — in other words getting to the root of any thoughts, beliefs, emotions or life situations that are challenging.

I provide life coaching for:

  • Individuals who are caregivers for their spouse, parent, or child
  • Professional caregivers such as therapists, physicians & nurses
  • Individuals who are interested in lowering stress, burnout and anxiety

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
In our sessions together, a large part of my role is to listen, ask questions, share experiences (if they are pertinent), and make space for you to figure out what you need. I can also help you form a sustainable plan — and clarify goals — as needed.

Although each of my client’s life situations is unique, some of the major topics that often arise revolve around mindfulness, meditation, self-care and relationships — including the relationship we have with ourselves and the people we care for. As a caregiver myself, I realize the importance of these things first hand — and how a person can fall apart if they are putting themselves last (also experienced first hand).

When we work together, you can depend on being in a safe space, that’s confidential — and free of judgment. You can also depend on me to refrain from giving advice or trying to fix things.
